Montreal by Design owner, Karen Kane, is a former Paris resident and a lover of all things French. In 2002, she founded Paris by Design - a small, independently owned company specializing in one-of-a-kind trips to Paris.

When a Paris client asked her to organize a trip to oh-so-French Montreal, Karen brought together 5 women, an image consultant, a Paris fashion expo, and an afternoon of shopping.

Montreal by Design was born (and the women are still raving.)

Now Karen writes about Montreal, leads tours, and has created a fabulous array of outrageously affordable self-guided tours.  Her passion for travel, insights into Montreal culture, and advice on where to eat, sleep, shop and stroll in this vibrant city translate to effortless travel.
